Project Space
Preview MAY 9., 2014 / 6-9pm

Using the defined spaces of a canvas or sheet of paper, Alice Brownes´studio practice explores the tensions and peculiarities of ‘seeing’ depth in a 2D surface in contrast to its surroundings. Forms are adapted from a variety of imaginary, representational and first-hand sources, then are flattened and re-worked in the painted space. For her two weeks residency at Prosjektrom Normanns she has explored the project space as a surface to be represented and embed her workings in its architecture and created a site specific installation.
